Dr. Robert A. Matlin has spent a lifetime in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, since 1978, helping to lead the local Jewish Community, serving in various leadership roles with the former Lancaster Jewish Federation, the Lancaster JCC, and most recently he spearheaded the creation of the Jewish Community Alliance of Lancaster. Bob has also been an active congregant and former board member of Temple Beth El for many years. He helped organize several mission trips to Israel in coordination with the Federation-UJA / Maimonides Society (JFNA), and brought the Lancaster Jewish Federation (now JCAL) under the umbrella of JFNA network. He has been an exemplar of Jewish volunteerism and philanthropy, a true mensch in our midst.
Professionally, Bob is a pulmonologist in Lancaster, and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital and Lebanon Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He received his medical degree from State University of New York Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine and has been in practice for more years than he wants us to say.
Please JCAL (Jewish Community Alliance of Lancaster) as we honor Bob Matlin for his lifetime of service to the Lancaster Jewish community.
